Bruce Walford was born in South Africa and has over 40 years experience as a potter, working in his home country as well as Italy, Scotland, England, Australia and now New Zealand. Bruce spent the 80s and 90s in South Africa exhibition widely and establishing himself as one of the top ten potters in the country and during this time won the South African Biennial Ceramics Awards (Thrown-ware category) and was invited to participate in the "1992 International Invitational Exhibition of Ceramic Art" at the National Museum of History in Taipei.Bruce has refined a paperclay material which has given him the freedom to produce simple but strikingly sculptural waka forms and organic platters. These are richly embellished with a range of textures and subtle glazes.
